Our behind-the-scenes dedication to creating unforgettable explosions
The Equalizer 3
The explosion sequence in Equalizer 3 was one of the most iconic and complex elements of the production, set in the picturesque Piazza Trieste e Trento in Naples. To recreate the square realistically, original footage was shot at Cinecittà Studios and integrated with 8K support plates filmed at various locations. The scene was further enriched with CG details such as pedestrians and cars, complemented by meticulous matte painting.
The actors’ actions, performed by stunt doubles, were seamlessly combined with precise post-production work, resulting in a spectacular and unforgettable sequence.

For Equalizer 3, we meticulously refined every detail, including cable cleanup and enhancing the atmosphere with smoke, ash, debris, and fire, combining live-action elements with FX simulations to achieve an extraordinarily realistic result.
In a pivotal scene, the actress's hair was completely replaced: to enrich the details, we filmed a team member wearing a wig, ensuring flawless execution. The entire film is elevated by a variety of effects, including integrations, set extensions using mixed techniques, and CG reconstructions, resulting in a production of exceptional quality.
